  • The Theater department is run by Ms. Elsa Johnson Bass. Students of the Theater department participate in at least two performances a year, and are active members of the CAPA Caravan.

    Course Syllabus
    Method ActingStudents learn how to get in touch with and become the character they are portraying.
    Children's TheaterThis course teaches how to do acting for theater for children, and the students even do the 'CAPA Caravan' - a traveling show that visits the elementary schools of Philadelphia.
    Film and TVFilm and TV is a course that teaches how to act for the media.
    Cinematography, Television and Film ProductionIntro to TV and Film is required for all ninth grade Theatre Majors. However, this new program offering is available to any student entering grade ten who meets the academic and portfolio requirements needed for entrance.
    Cinematography, Television and Film Production is an intensive 3-year CTE (Career and Technical Education) program that introduces the students to the art and science of Television and Digital Film Production. Students learn various types of media productions while developing a full understanding of hardware, software and the equipment necessary for delivering effective presentation for business, industry and entertainment.
